Veronica Leonard – Writer and Wine Tourist
I’ve been a freelance writer for over 25 years writing for newspapers, radio and magazines as well as corporate communications for three federal government departments. I specialized in writing about lifestyles, the workplace, education and profiles of entrepreneurs and their businesses.
Like many empty-nesters, my husband and I finally started to travel a few years ago and chanced upon Harvey’s bodega in Jerez, Spain. Then we visited New Beginnings, the African wine workers winery at Nelson’s Creek in South Africa. In Tuscany, we discovered Brunello and Vino Nobile. In Provence, we came close to bathing in rosé.
In 2008, while living in Halifax, I fell in love with Nova Scotia wines and wanted to blog my excitement about them to other wine tourists. As my techie skills were limited, I started my Nova Scotia Wine column for www/examiner.com The following year I moved to Belleville Ontario right next door to Ontario’s newest wine region and started my second examiner.com column on Prince Edward County wines . The best of these columns are now being moved to this site, along with articles about food, wine and spirits I’ve written for Travel + Escape, County & Quinte Living magazine, and other publications as well as my current blogs
